It was described by them as "specifically designed for the younger player, doubler or even the arthritic player who may have difficulty covering the standard open-tone-hole". This clarinet continued to be manufactured by Leblanc right up until they ceased manufacture in 2009. The age of this clarinet is unknown but it is in excellent condition. It has a wooden body apart from the barrel which is made of resin, a very common feature of these clarinets. The model N was considered Leblanc's upper intermediate clarinet and is comparable with the modern Buffet E13 clarinets. It is rare to find one in the key of A so this clarinet would be very well suited to orchestral playing. This Leblanc Noblet Plateau N model ‘A’ clarinet is the ideal choice for the player with smaller hands or medical conditions such as arthritis as it removes the obstacle of having to cover the open tone holes.
